What is a Summer 5-Day Club®?
During summer months children gather in backyards, community centers, parks, and other locations for five consecutive days to hear the Gospel clearly presented through Bible lessons, a real-life missionary story, exciting games, songs, and activities.
A 5-Day Club® (traditionally called Backyard Bible Club) can be compared to Vacation Bible School “on the road.” Teens and young adults receive training through Christian Youth In Action® and then teach several clubs a week, reaching tens of thousands of children around the world.
A team of screened, trained, and equipped young people from your local CEF® chapter handle all club details, while hosts, host families, or host churches are asked to provide a place to hold club (such as a backyard, garage, church, or porch) and to invite children nearby to come to club and hear the good news of the gospel.
As with all CEF® ministries, the purpose of 5-Day Club® is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a local Bible-believing church for Christian living.

A 5-Day Club® Meets Kids Right Where They Are
Placed right in their neighborhoods, a 5-Day Club® is easy for a child to access on their summer break. Teachers are trained and equipped to lead an action-packed 5-Day Club® for one solid week, delivering the timeless truths of the Bible in exciting, engaging ways. Children learn the Gospel, and many come to know Jesus as their Savior.

Equipping Teens for Ministry
5-Day Clubs are mainly taught by Christian teenagers who have been trained and equipped to lead and teach these summer Bible clubs. All teachers and helpers are screened and trained by CEF® and learn how to lead clubs and teach Bible lessons, songs, memory verses, and missionary stories. Best of all, they have learned how to counsel children who wish to trust Christ as Savior! With more than 85 years of experience, CEF® has developed materials that capture children's attention, teach them biblical truths, and help them understand and respond to the Gospel.

What Is 5-Day Club®?
For five consecutive days (Monday through Friday), one hour and a half each day, children will gather to hear exciting Bible lessons and a real-life missionary story, learn Bible verses in fun interactive ways, play exciting games, sing fun songs that teach unforgettable truths from God's Word, and – most importantly – hear the Gospel clearly presented in a way children can understand!
Who sponsors 5-Day Club®?
5-Day Club® is sponsored by CEF®, an international, Bible-centered organization, which has been in existence for over 85 years. CEF® shares the Gospel with more than 30 million children each year.
Many times, local churches co-sponsor the club as an effective outreach.
What can 5-Day Club® do for my community?
A 5-Day Club® can identify a home in the neighborhood that is safe for a child to go in times of trouble. It brings the teaching of biblical morality to his neighborhood. It connects the child and his family to others where they live, developing a good community spirit. When you teach God’s Word to children in your neighborhood, your neighbors learn what you believe. Community centers and housing complexes are also great places for a club.
How will the club benefit children?
Children will learn biblical principles, moral values, character qualities, and respect for authority.
Will children be safe?
CEF® has taken specific steps to ensure the safety of every child. All club workers have been carefully screened as required by the CEF® Child Protection Policy.
Who can attend 5-Day Club®?
5-Day Club® is open to all boys and girls between the ages of five and twelve, regardless of religious background. Parents are welcome to attend the club with their children.
Is there any cost for my child to attend?
There is no charge for children to attend. An optional missionary offering may be taken each day at some clubs.
Who Teaches 5-Day Club®?
Christians who are concerned for the spiritual well-being of children teach the club. These teachers have received specialized training from CEF® and are carefully screened as required by the CEF® Child Protection Policy.
How Can I Get Involved?
Do you see a need to evangelize your community? Do you have a burden to reach spiritually lost boys and girls? Then why not? Your willingness is a child's blessing!
Hosting includes:
- Inviting the children (using invitations we provide)
- Setting up the area (finding a good, shady spot where you can set up a blanket if outdoors; open room with space for activities, if indoors)
- Providing refreshments (cookies, chips, fruit, popsicles, etc.)
- Participating in the club activities
How Can My Church Get Involved?
Many times, local churches co-sponsor the club as an effective outreach.
Through a CEF® 5-Day Club®, you can take Vacation Bible School on the road to reach kids where they’re at rather than waiting for them to come to you! Many local churches have had great success with choosing three locations in nearby neighborhoods to have a week of 5-Day Club®. Then on the last day of the week, they have a special event at their church where both the kids and their parents are invited.
