Required Training for

So that we can properly meet the spiritual needs of the children; CEF requires that all Good News Club volunteers receive proper training prior to beginning a Good News Club. Our local chapter schedules two training's a year for you to attend. These training's can also be scheduled to be taken at your church or at our local office. The training will be conducted by a CEF approved Staff Member.
On Site Training's Include:
FIRST
a meeting with Team Leader and Club Administrative Coordinator will take place:
It is helpful to meet separately with these two key people to go over their specific responsibilities.
SECOND
a Procedures Workshop will be conducted:
This start-up training is for GNC personnel from a church that is adopting a school for the first time. This workshop is 7 hours long and is required for all team members.
The Procedures workshop includes:
THIRD
a Teacher Enrichment Seminar will be conducted:
This training is required for all teachers and assistant teachers before they teach their first club (Unless they have taken TCE listed below). Any other personnel who want to counsel children that respond to the invitation must also attend this training. This training should provide team members with basic training necessary for teaching the various elements of the GNC and counseling children for salvation. This seminar is 7 hours long.

(Extra Training Not Required) Teaching Children Effectively
This is a 30 hour course highly recommended (not required) for Good News Club teachers and assistant teachers. This comprehensive course teaches step by step the educational principles behind our methods and includes guided practicums to improve your teaching. This course can be taken on line or locally and is taught by certified teachers from the Children’s Ministry Institute located in Warrenton, Missouri. This course locally would cost approximately $100-$150 (depending on how the course is set up). This fee includes a 5-6 week curriculum, teaching helps, text book, and one on one mentoring.
